Job Description
A Night Care Assistant in a care home is responsible for providing care and support to residents during nighttime hours, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being while the home is quieter and has fewer staff on duty. Their role is vital for maintaining 24-hour care continuity and responding promptly to residents’ needs during the night.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitoring residents: Carrying out regular checks on residents to ensure they are safe, comfortable, and settled throughout the night.
• Responding to calls: Assisting residents who need help using the toilet, repositioning in bed, or who may be distressed or disoriented.
• Personal care: Providing nighttime personal care, such as helping with continence needs, changing bedding or clothing, and supporting hygiene routines.
• Medication support: Administering or assisting with night-time medication if trained and authorized to do so.
• Documentation: Keeping accurate records of care provided, incidents, or changes in residents’ conditions during the shift.
• Preparing for the day: Assisting with early morning routines, such as helping residents get up, washed, and dressed.
• Maintaining a calm environment: Ensuring the home remains quiet, respectful, and restful, promoting good sleep for residents.

Working Hours
Nights, including alternate weekends.
12 hour shifts - 8pm until 8am

From £13.41 per hour
