A Personalised Approach to Activities and Engagement

At Hillbrook Grange, we believe that every day should be meaningful, joyful, and filled with opportunities for connection. Our thoughtfully curated activity programme is tailored to suit a variety of interests and abilities, ensuring that every resident can take part in something they enjoy.

Residents can look forward to a wide range of enriching experiences, including:

Arts and crafts in Hillbrook Grange provide residents with an enjoyable and therapeutic outlet for creativity, self-expression, and social interaction. These activities are tailored to suit varying abilities and interests, helping to maintain dexterity, cognitive skills, and emotional well-being. Whether it's painting, card-making, seasonal decorations, or simple DIY projects, arts and crafts sessions bring joy, a sense of accomplishment, and an opportunity for residents to connect with one another.

To enhance the experience, we also welcome Creative Mojo, a specialist arts and crafts company, into the care home every month. Their professional team delivers themed, inclusive sessions that are both engaging and accessible for all residents, regardless of ability. These monthly workshops often result in vibrant group projects and individual masterpieces that are proudly displayed throughout the home, adding colour and a personal touch to our shared spaces.

Getting out and about

Going out on adventures in the local community is a much-loved part of life in Hillbrook Grange. These outings provide residents with the opportunity to enjoy fresh air, a change of scenery, and a sense of connection with the world beyond the home. Whether it's a gentle stroll in the park, a visit to a nearby café, or attending local events, these trips promote well-being, independence, and social engagement.

We regularly visit local favourites like The Plaza and The Light Cinema, where residents can enjoy classic films, new releases, or even a live show in a comfortable, accessible environment. These outings are thoughtfully planned to ensure everyone can participate safely and enjoyably, with staff and volunteers on hand to support throughout the day.

From short trips in the local area to occasional adventures further afield, such as scenic drives or visits to places of interest, these experiences add variety, stimulation, and a lot of smiles to everyday life.

Gentle exercise classes

At Hillbrook Grange, we place a strong emphasis on promoting physical well-being and mobility through regular, enjoyable exercise sessions tailored to our residents' needs. Each week, we offer gentle yoga sessions, which focus on breathing, stretching, and relaxation to help improve flexibility, balance, and overall mental well-being.

We also have weekly chair-based exercise classes with Lisa, which are always popular. These sessions are specifically designed to be accessible for all levels of mobility and help to maintain strength, coordination, and joint movement in a fun and sociable environment.

In addition to these regular activities, we welcome a specialist company into the home once a month to deliver armchair exercise classes. These sessions offer a fresh and engaging approach to movement, often incorporating music, props, and plenty of enthusiasm to keep everyone motivated and moving.

Together, these activities form a key part of our holistic approach to care, supporting both physical health and emotional well-being in a supportive and inclusive atmosphere.

Music therapy

Join our Head Chef Conor for a lively and rhythmic Bodrum drum session, where residents can explore music in a fun and interactive way. It's a unique opportunity to connect through sound, creativity, and a shared sense of joy – all led by someone who brings both culinary and musical flair to the home!

We also regularly welcome a variety of talented entertainers into Hillbrook Grange, bringing music, laughter, and sing-along favourites to our lounge. Whether it's classic tunes, themed performances, or interactive shows, these events create a vibrant atmosphere that lifts spirits and encourages everyone to join in the fun.

Baking sessions

Enjoy delightful baking sessions with Lisa and Conor, where residents can roll up their sleeves and get hands-on in the kitchen. These sessions are a wonderful way to spark memories, share stories, and enjoy the comforting smells and tastes of home-baked treats. Whether it’s making cakes, biscuits, or seasonal goodies, the focus is on fun, creativity, and the joy of baking together in a relaxed and sociable setting.

Reminiscence groups

Our reminiscence groups with Lisa offer a warm and welcoming space for residents to come together and share memories of how things used to be. These sessions often spark meaningful conversations about childhood, family life, past jobs, local history, and cultural traditions, helping to strengthen a sense of identity and connection.

Using photos, music, objects, and storytelling, Lisa gently guides the group through topics that encourage laughter, reflection, and sometimes even a few happy tears. It's a cherished time for residents to celebrate their life experiences and bond with others through shared memories.

Themed celebration events

Everyone loves a good theme event – and here at Hillbrook Grange, we are no different! We regularly host themed days and celebrations that bring colour, fun, and excitement to the home. From seasonal festivities and cultural celebrations to decade-themed parties, afternoon teas, and even the occasional Hawaiian luau or Hollywood red carpet day, there's always something special on the calendar.

These events are a wonderful opportunity for residents to dress up, enjoy themed food prepared by our kitchen team, take part in games and activities, and dance or sing along to live entertainment. Staff love getting involved too, making each event a truly joyful, inclusive experience for everyone.
