Job Description
A Senior Care Assistant in a care home is an experienced member of the care team who takes on additional responsibilities beyond those of a standard care assistant. They provide high-quality personal care to residents while also overseeing and supporting junior staff, helping to ensure that care standards are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities:
• Delivering care: Providing hands-on personal care, such as assistance with washing, dressing, toileting, and mobility, in a compassionate and respectful manner.
• Supervising staff: Leading and supporting care assistants during shifts, offering guidance and mentoring to ensure best practices are followed.
• Care planning: Contributing to or updating residents’ care plans and ensuring care is delivered according to individual needs and preferences.
• Monitoring residents: Observing changes in residents’ physical or emotional condition and reporting concerns to senior management or healthcare professionals.
• Medication support: Administering medication (if trained and authorized) and ensuring accurate records are kept.
• Communication: Liaising with residents’ families, healthcare professionals, and other members of the care team to ensure coordinated care.
• Record keeping: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation, including care notes, incident reports, and handover information.

Hourly Rate
From £15.55 per hour
Working Hours
36 or 48 hours per week, alternate weekends.
Night Senior from 8pm until 8am
Day Senior from 8am until 8pm
