Hillbrook Grange Infection Control Inspection – January 2025

We are pleased to share the results of our most recent Infection Control Inspection, carried out in January 2025, where Hillbrook Grange achieved an impressive 94% overall rating. This result reflects our continued commitment to providing a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our residents and staff.

✅ Good Practice Identified

The inspection highlighted several areas of strong practice and progress, including:

• Comprehensive infection control policies and regular in-house audits, which demonstrate our proactive and structured approach.

• Clean and well-maintained communal areas, with recent decorating improvements noted since the previous inspection, contributing to a fresh and welcoming atmosphere.

• Effective systems for medication storage, sharps disposal, cleaning routines, and sluice room management, showing our team’s dedication to safe and compliant practice.

🛠️ Key Actions Required

While the report was overwhelmingly positive, a few minor areas for improvement were identified:

1. A small number of surfaces are showing signs of wear and tear and require maintenance.

2. Some items of equipment were noted to be stored outside of in-house standards and will be re-organised accordingly.

We have a clear plan in place to address the feedback from the inspection:

• The worn surfaces are already included in our ongoing maintenance schedule and will be repaired by our dedicated in-house maintenance team.

• The areas highlighted for decoration are located in the ‘Old House’, which is scheduled for demolition as part of our long-term site development, meaning temporary cosmetic updates have been deprioritised.
